I think this isn’t right. We have a world where institutions BLATANTLY lie in the vague direction of the truth to make the truth…uh…punchier. More viral. Some people, upon detecting the lies (e.g. “Climate modeling is settled science”), decide there’s no truth in it *at all*. A free society with an official counter-factual narrative is not a free society. Let me say that this is not about whether nations have a right to keep secrets or have to be fully transparent.
